　　苏曼是寺庙大祭司达罗摩布善的独子，他看不惯父亲身边的人利用宗教信仰满足私欲的行为，时常与父亲争执。与洒水工的女儿卡吉瑞的偶然相遇让苏曼坠入爱河，然而两人却最终失去了联系。卡吉瑞在回家途中遭恶徒绑架侮辱后怀孕，为了维护父母的声誉离家出走，途中产下一子不幸夭折。卡吉瑞想为儿子准备葬礼却遭到火葬场工人及达罗摩布善一行人的拒绝。苏曼于大学修读法学，假期回家时发现父亲欲为自己安排婚事，与父亲争吵之后去往伯父的农场度假，谁知竟在农场重遇卡吉瑞，重新燃起的爱火再次点燃，最终经历一番波折，卡吉瑞与苏曼一起惩治了欺辱女性的恶棍，并获得了达罗摩布善的理解，成就了良缘。
